“Each year it’s a privilege to be able to lend our support to help colleagues work with local programmes helping to deliver change, as well as investing in social value initiatives to drive our own business forward – and 2025 has been no different.”

Delving into our 2025 social value report
The latest report is available to read now and covers a range of activities and initiatives undertaken throughout last year, that represent the engrained culture within the NRL Group to give back and strive to make a difference. We take a look at just a few of the highlights below.
UK’s Best Workplace™
In 2024 colleagues across the NRL Group, including those working in our Languages business, took part in an anonymous survey with Great Place To Work®, sharing our thoughts on our employer – from the support they give us, to the way the management team operate and the opportunities we’re given to progress our careers. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, which went on to see the Group achieve a number of UK Best Workplace™ accolades during 2025. These included being recognised as an employer committed to wellbeing and development, as well as a company with a leading approach to championing women.
Maintaining the Carbon Neutral International Standard
The NRL Group deliver services across the globe, so managing our carbon footprint is important to us. We’re proud to join other businesses in the Group to report our carbon emissions to One Carbon World each year, whilst looking at ways we can continue to drive these down. For those emissions we cannot immediately eliminate, we invest carbon credits in projects across the world that help to reduce climate change and deliver important improvements to the local area. In 2025, to offset emissions produced from our 2024 operations this involved environmental work in Uruguay that is helping to create hundreds of jobs, build new wildlife habitats and increase biodiversity. This ensures we can renew our Carbon Neutral International Standard certification each year, which is important to us.
Supporting charity endeavours
The company’s match funding scheme allows colleagues to request additional donations in recognition of their charity fundraising activities, and it’s an initiative that’s been well received across the NRL Group. In 2025 these donations helped support 53 charities that are close to hearts of colleagues, including some fantastic organisations based near our North East operations who are making a real difference in our community – from providing warm meals to helping women prepare for employment.
Transcribing words into audio and large format print
We know the difference translation and interpreting services make for our clients, who rely on us to help them navigate conversations and bridge language barriers. So, we were pleased to read about the support NRL’s recruitment team in Falkirk have provided Sight Scotland for over a decade. They recruit transcribers to work in the Scottish Braille Press, which create audio and large format print versions of literature to make material accessible. With the service supporting over 50,000 visually impaired customers each month, it’s an extremely rewarding activity for colleagues to be involved with.
About the NRL Group
From the language solutions we provide, to the recruitment, workforce and contracting services colleagues across the NRL Group deliver to clients, our organisation has grown extensively since we were first established in 1983. Throughout this expansion, company culture has remained at the heart of our strategy, and social value remains a key driver in how we operate.
